Ellen Smith, an 8 year employee of Nor-Com, and founder of Electronic-Interiors, saw a need for a specialized engineering design firm and formed Electronic-Interiors to work with Nor-Com. Nor-com is a well known, 40 year old engineering systems integration company that provides equipment, sales, and systems assimilation to education, health care, security, business, industry and entertainment markets throughout the United States. Together E-I and Nor-Com, through experience and knowledge, are able to work with customers and projects from conception to completion.

Ellen Smith's twenty plus year career has positioned her to lead Electronic-Interiors as President and Chief Executive Officer. Having first worked 8 years for Nor-Com, Inc. as Marketing and Business Manager, she saw a need to form a specialized consulting firm. Thus was born Electronic-Interiors, a professional Women Owned Business Enterprise (WBE) consulting and design firm for AV and Technology. In forming Electronic-Interiors Ellen utilized her experience in developing a growing relationship with the Greater Cincinnati Public School system and other government agencies. Having hired (BICSI RCDD) network engineers and designers Ellen actively runs the day-to-day operation of the firm, maintaining and growing the company's position in the market and ensuring customer satisfaction.
As a celebrated industry leader with a proven track record, Ellen's 31 years of training and work experience prior to Nor-Com, the last 15 as a District Manager directing 200 sales personnel, has given her the skill set needed to lead Electronic-Interiors. Ellen has a no nonsense approach to business. Her vision for the future combined with her valuable knowledge, strong leadership qualities, and a strong belief in education are the values she uses on a day-to-day basis in leading her Northern Kentucky Company.
As a Project Manager and Designer, John brings over 25 years of architectural and acoustical design experience to Electronic-Interiors. Throughout his years working on numerous construction and renovation projects, John has excelled in audio visual, technology specifications, and design, including acoustical analysis, tele-communications, video-conferencing, security, and surveillance. John has worked throughout the region on many successful projects with significant AV and technology components including:
These projects, along with many others, earned John the reputation of being an expert in Voice Reinforcement and Acoustical Systems.
John graduated from the University of Cincinnati's School of Architecture. He is a registered architect and is well known for his architectural photography. He achieved the prestigious CTS-D designation (Certified Technology Specialist - Design) and is CDT certified as well (Certified Document Technician). He is a LEED Accredited Professional, and has worked on several projects pursuing LEED certification.
John's ability to focus on design details and specifications, communicate with the team, and translate project goals into design, has made him a leader in the field of technology. His industry knowledge along with his construction design experience have taught him that in today's fast paced environment it is important to approach each job with top of market skills, fresh ideas, up-to-date design, and current products all at an affordable price.
As a Design Estimator and Project Manager, Steve brings over 40 years of audio visual and technology design, integration and implementation experience to Electronic-Interiors. He is well known for his knowledge of all telecommunication systems and related infrastructure components. His ability to analyze, understand, and contribute to conceptual and detailed project documents for architects, engineers, and other team members ensures that all projects are successful and meet or exceed expectations. Steve's background and approach to design, estimating and project management is hands on. He provides technical assistance that integrates project development and solves design problems.
Steve holds numerous designations essential for AV design. He is RCDD Certified (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) with the Business Industry Consulting Service. He is certified by AT&T Systimax Premises Distribution System: Design and Maintenance, Installation and Maintenance; Sieman Design; Leviton; NORDX/CDT; Molex; and Hubbell. In addition, Steve remains active in Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) having joined the organization in 1988.
Steve's outstanding knowledge and incredible experience, his strong work ethic, and his ability to communicate and understand what a project needs have made him an audio visual expert and leader in the construction industry. Steve has a keen eye for new technology and in today's competitive environment he realizes that strong market skills, fresh ideas, and up-to-date design are necessary for a project's success.
As the Director of Marketing and Business Development, Judy Kincaid brings over 21 years of sales and marketing experience in the construction industry. She has solid knowledge that supports decision making, and is skilled at minimizing costs while maximizing sales with her marketing and advertising programs.
Judy is a visionary who has a proven ability to re-brand, think creatively, manage strategically and increase profitability in challenging markets. She excels at nurturing employees into strong leaders and shaping development teams to achieve high levels of performance. Judy has superlative customer relationship skills that ensure surpassing all marketing and sales goals. In addition, she has expertise in employment recruitment, training and development, sales coaching, market research, and product development.
Judy is a recognized leader in the construction industry. She consults throughout the United States and is a regular featured speaker at numerous trade shows. Active in the industry she has chaired and served on a number of committees for highly respected boards.
Judy is committed to both education and giving back to the community. She continues to work on civic programs that promote industry and the cities in which she resides. Over the years Judy has created major partnerships and programs between pro sports and business to benefit families and children. She currently sits on the board of the Bluegrass Boys' Ranch in Lexington, Kentucky whose mission is to house underprivileged boys with high IQ's, with a focus on providing them the opportunity to achieve higher education.
